A new 60' flag pole was installed at the park just before Memorial Day.  The William R. Gaines Jr. Veteran Memorial Fund with contributions from the community funded the flag pole and the County installed the new pole with additional lighting.

There was a Memorial Day event at the park this year with the flag flying at half mast.
